The Piece
Why?
This piece is the first in my series of changes over time. I decided to draw about life, as it’s the most important part of ourselves. Everyone has life, but we ll experience it differently. The left side represents a girl who is in a social setting hearing common phrases of conversations. The colors are bright and warm with the background lines are sharp.
The right side is the same girl in a different situation. She is alone, as represented by the AirPod in her ear. She hasn’t put much thought into her look with a beanie and messy hair. The colors are cool and calm, with the background lines being smooth. From the transition of the background lines, we can see that as the lines go from sharp to smooth, the girls life is split between outgoing, to numb.
Skills learned/used
How?
I decided to focus on the background and not the girls face. Because of this decision, I omitted drawing the girls face entirety. I wanted to emphasize her feelings, rather than her face. I learned how to correctly portray feelings through art.
